Zyn cost calculator
Pouches a day, times your price per can. See what your habit costs per week, per year and over five years, and what a 4-week taper would put back in your pocket.
Your habit costs
$2,077 a year
That's 1 can a day, 365 cans a year.
Your next 12 months
That's $1,997 back in the first year.
How the math works
- Cans a day = pouches a day ÷ pouches per can.
- Cost a year = cans a day × price per can × 365.
- Nicotine a year = pouches a day × strength in mg × 365. This is what's printed on the can, not what your body absorbs.
- 4-week taper assumes you use exactly your daily limit each week of the same plan our taper generator builds, at your current price per can, then nothing after quit day. Weaker cans often cost the same, so we don't discount them.
Why it never feels like that much
A can costs about the same as a coffee, and you buy one at a time. The yearly number never shows up on a single receipt, which is exactly why it's worth working out once. In the Snuff Out app, the money you've kept counts up on your Today screen from day one of the taper.
Questions
How many pouches are in a can of Zyn?
A standard US can of Zyn holds 15 pouches. Other brands vary, so check the lid and change "pouches per can" above.
How much does a can of Zyn cost?
It depends on your state, the store and local tobacco taxes, so we don't list a single price. The fastest way to get your real number is a recent receipt or your card statement.
Does the calculator save my numbers?
