Zyn taper plan generator

Enter how many pouches you use and how strong they are. You get a week-by-week plan that ends on your quit date, built by the same engine as the Snuff Out app. Works for Zyn and any other nicotine pouch.

A can of Zyn holds 15 pouches. Be honest: the plan is built from this number.

Strength you use most

Up to 4 weeks out. A short taper with a fixed end works best.

How the plan is built

The generator turns three dials once a week. These are the same rules the Snuff Out app uses, so the plan here matches the plan in the app.

  • Fewer. Your daily limit drops in equal steps toward zero, so the last week sits one step above quit day. A can a day over four weeks goes 12, 9, 6, 3. Each week is lower than the one before, and no week goes below one pouch.
  • Weaker. Halfway through, the plan steps you down to about half strength along the common pouch strengths: 6 mg to 3 mg, 12 mg to 6 mg, 9 mg to 4 mg. It never goes below 3 mg, so if you already use 3 mg, strength stays put. More in Zyn 3 mg vs 6 mg.
  • Further apart. The minimum gap is 80% of an even spread across 16 waking hours, rounded to the quarter hour and capped at 4 hours. The slack keeps your allowance reachable after a late start. The gap never shrinks from one week to the next.

The plan always ends on a fixed quit day, at most four weeks out. Cutting down with no end date tends to stall, so the generator won't build an open-ended plan.

What each week asks of you

Week 1

Your daily count drops and a minimum gap between pouches starts. Strength stays the same. Most people notice the gaps more than the number, especially around their usual triggers like coffee, driving or a work deadline. Notice when you reach for one. That list is your map for the next three weeks.

Week 2

Fewer again, and the gaps get longer. If a craving hits before the next unlock, give it 90 seconds of slow breathing first. Craving SOS walks you through it.

Weeks 3 and 4

The lower strength starts, on top of a smaller count and the longest gaps. Buy the weaker cans before the week begins, so the switch doesn't depend on willpower at the store.

Quit day

Zero. Throw out what's left the night before. The first three days are usually the hardest, and it gets easier after that. See what to expect day by day.

Questions

How long should I taper off Zyn?

Up to four weeks. A short taper with a fixed quit date gives you time to adjust without turning into an open-ended "cutting down". If you use only a few pouches a day, one or two weeks is plenty.

Can you taper off Zyn at all?

Yes. Pouches come in several strengths and the count is easy to track, which makes them well suited to a step-down plan. The key is that the plan ends on a set day.

Should I switch to 3 mg before I start?

You can, but the plan changes one thing at a time at the start. Switching strength and cutting the count in the same week is a bigger jump, which is why the strength step comes halfway through.

What if I go over my limit?

Log it and carry on with the plan. One heavy day doesn't undo the weeks around it, and the quit day stays the same.
